Poetry Out Loud Finals

This poetic recitation in English contest represents a great opportunity to foster academic and personal growth of students through poetry. POL is coordinated in Puerto Rico by the Instituto de Cultura Puertorriqueña (ICP) thanks to the federal sponsorship of the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) in partnership with the Poetry Foundation.  Poets have mentors who will advise you in the Organization of the competition at the school level and will provide support in the preparation of your student to the State competition.

Today the finals were held at Francisco Arriví Theater in Santurce. In its 6th edition 53 schools participated and all seven regions of the Department of education were represented.

Juan José De Jesús represented Dr. Maximo Donoso Sánchez school with great poise in front of a panel of nine judges and hundreds of spectators.
